Rockin' Riders Day Camp

Skills Your Child Will Learn

Horse Safety: First and foremost, we emphasize safety. Your child will learn how to approach and interact with horses safely, both on the ground and in the saddle. This is key for developing a strong, respectful bond with these amazing animals.

Horsemanship Skills: Campers will learn essential horsemanship skills, such as grooming, tacking up, and leading a horse. These skills teach responsibility and build a solid foundation for any future riding experience.

Horse Care: At Rock Springs, we believe in teaching kids the importance of caring for horses in every way. Your child will participate in feeding, grooming, and maintaining the horses, ensuring they understand how much work and love goes into caring for a horse.

Horse Behavior & Communication: One of the most exciting aspects of the camp is learning how horses communicate. Your child will discover how horses use body language and behavior to express themselves, helping them become better riders and handlers.

Riding: Of course, the highlight of the camp is time spent in the saddle! Under the watchful eye of our experienced instructors, campers will practice riding skills, from basic mounting and dismounting to more advanced techniques depending on their experience level. Whether they’re trotting around the ring or simply enjoying a quiet ride, they’ll gain confidence and become more comfortable with their riding abilities.

What to Bring

Please bring the following each day:
  1. Lunch & Snacks
  2. Additional drinks if your child prefers something other than bottled water or sugar-free gatorade. Please do NOT pack sodas or sugar drinks (this adds to dehydration and heat safety factors).
  3. A change of clothes.
  4. Sunscreen and bugspray
  5. Sunglasses and a hat.
  6. Personal items or medications your child may need throughout the day. If sending medications, please review these with the camp director.

Our Philosophy

We understand that every child is different, which is why we tailor our approach to meet each camper's skill level and needs. Our small group sizes ensure individual attention, allowing your child to grow at their own pace while making new friends who share their love for horses. Plus, the ranch’s beautiful, peaceful setting offers the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable summer experience.

Give your child the gift of confidence, fun, and learning at Rock Springs Guest Ranch. They’ll leave our Day Camp not only with new skills but also with memories that will last a lifetime. Sign up today to secure your spot for a week of horseplay!
